How To Draw A Doll

Step 1

To begin this tutorial on how to draw a doll, let’s start with the doll’s head and hair.

The doll we will draw in this guide will be a bit stylized as it will have a big head and a small, thin body. To start drawing this head, you first need to draw a curved, rounded horizontal line.

This line will serve as the bottom of your doll’s face. Once that line is drawn, we will use some sharper lines to show off the bangs falling across the face.

Finally, for this step, we will use some curved lines across the top of the head to reveal the top of the hair.

Step 2

As mentioned above, this doll design will have a stylized look. This also applies to her face.

His eyes will be relatively large, and you can draw their outlines by placing two fairly large circles on his face. The eyes are set far apart and close enough to the sides of the face.

Next, we’ll draw a reflective effect on the eyes. You can draw a thin, crescent shape at the bottom of each eye.

Also, a small circular shape is at the base of each of these crescent shapes. To complete this effect, the eye on the left will have more circular shapes over the crescent moon.

Before proceeding, add small lines at the base of the eyes as eyelashes and then draw a small smiling mouth.

Finally, we can draw the bottom of the sweatshirt, the beginning of the legs, and the small accessory. Then, you are ready for the final details in the next step.

Step 5

For the final part of the doll design, we top it off with some awesome colors. In our reference photo, we used brown for her hair, then opted for pink with white speckles for the bows.

We also used a similar pink with a white polka dot pattern for her boots.

Finally, we used green for her outfit and a few more colors for the smaller details. These are the colors we chose.
