Solution 1: Flush DNS Using the Command Prompt

To fix the general payroll errors that arise due to internet connectivity issues, you can use the DNS command to set up proper internet configuration.

  1. Press the Windows and R keys together to open the start window, then type CMD in the start text box that appears. 

  2. Press Enter or click OK, type ipconfig/flushdns in the search bar, and press Enter again. 

  3. Finally, try to use the QB payroll again to see if the problems have been fixed.

Solution 2: Change the Settings for Internet Explorer from the Advanced Tab

If you can’t connect to the internet when using QuickBooks, you need to change the settings of the internet connection.

  1. Close the QuickBooks and start Internet Explorer. Click the Tools menu.

  2. Click Internet Options, and then click Restore Advanced Settings on the Advanced tab of Internet Options.

  3. Now, go to the Settings menu and make sure that Use TLS 1.0 is checked. Uncheck the options that says Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2.

  4. Click ‘OK’ and close Internet Explorer. Restart your computer and then try to send the payroll data once again.
