Where To Find Magic Items
On the Sword Coast, you can find magic things just about anywhere. You can find them in towns, camps, and sites. You can find magical items anywhere and from anyone you can loot. You can also buy them from people you meet on your trips. It varies in price, but you can find many magical items that will help you on your trip.
There are many magic things, but Gale is only interested in a few. You can tell which items he will eat by the message “Gale can absorb this item’s magic, destroying it.” This note won’t be on every item, so move your mouse over possible snacks for the wizard to make sure he’ll take them.
Best Magic Items To Give Gale
For each class and build, there is a list of things that you should give Gale. However, there is no hard and fast rule. You might give Gale things you can’t use if that’s how you want to build your characters. Like, you might find armor that he can eat but no one else in your party can use.
It’s safe to give Gale most Uncommon items if you’re afraid that you might need them later. You might find some good gear early on, but you’ll definitely find better items later on.
You can give Gale the following things that won’t hurt your game:
- Robe of Summer
- Komira’s Locket
- Ring of Color Spray
Even though these are useful, other things you’ll find will soon be better. You’ll find many more, and some of them may not fit the way you like to play. There’s not much to worry about since Gale only needs three things before he can tell you more about his health.
Magic Items To Never Give Gale
Things with magic you don’t want to give Gale are uncommon things that are tough to find. These are the things that will have blue marks instead of green ones. Keep rare things away from Gale because they often have better effects and stat boosts. Along with that, there are rare things that give party members skills they wouldn’t normally have access to.
You can’t get something back once you give it to Gale. He eats it, which destroys it.
Early in Drive Mad, you’ll find important items that give you useful fighting skills that you shouldn’t give to Gale.
- Springstep Boots
- Gloves of Power
- Gloves of Archery
Even though these things might not be as useful after Act One, they give characters like your cleric, Shadowheart, and your rogue, Astarion, a big advantage early on because they improve moves that both of them probably use or need to use in battle.
Why You Should Give Gale Items
It will be bad for you if you don’t give Gale things. Because of this, his rolls will go down, leaving him more open to attack, and he may make a bad deal out of desperation to get better. He might even quit the party and be mad at you for making him. You don’t have to hold on to a bunch of magical items when you can’t use them all at once.
If you get too many things on your journey, give them to other people in the party or to Gale himself. Remember to give Gale the things you no longer want or need and keep the best ones for yourself. Because giving him your best gear won’t help you, it’s better to give him any special items you won’t need.
